- Records with information about a person that the disclosure will constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy
- Trade secrets
- Commercial information or financial information
- Records that their disclosure would jeopardize the life or safety of a person
Orem Crime Statistics
The Utah Department of Public Safety provides annual reports of the total index crimes recorded by law enforcement agencies within the state. In the 2019 report, Orem City recorded a total number of 2,064 crimes. This figure covers 89 violent crimes and 1,975 property crimes. The violent crimes consist of two murders, 37 rapes, 11 robberies, and 39 aggravated assaults. The reported property crimes consist of 156 burglaries, 1,673 larcenies, 141 motor vehicle thefts, and five arsons.
Compared with the report of the previous year, the City of Orem saw a significant increase in the total number of reported crimes. Murder, rape, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, motor vehicle theft, and arson rates increased by 100%, 85%, 8%, 3%, 6%, 42%, and 100% respectively. The rate of robbery declined by 6%.

How to Obtain Orem Police Reports and Arrest Records?

Are Orem Court Records Public?
Pursuant to Utah state laws, most district and justice court records are publicly available. Therefore, interested residents can access these records by visiting any of the courthouses at the aforementioned locations. Some records are also considered private. These records are precluded from public access, and they include:
- Juvenile court records;
- Petition for divorce;
- Request for a protective order;
- Petition for guardianship of an adult;
- Motion to waive fees;
- Motion to waive divorce waiting period;
- Motion for temporary orders in a child custody case;
- Victim impact statement;
- Medical records.
The following persons are eligible to access an Orem private court record:
- A party or attorney for a party;
- An interested person to an action under the Uniform Probate Code;
- The person who submitted the record;
- The subject of the record or their attorney;

Interested persons can obtain Orem civil court case records by utilizing the Xchange Case Search portal. Requesters will have to subscribe and log in to obtain their records of requests. What are Orem Vital Records?
Orem vital records include official documents containing details about life events that occur within the city, such as birth, death, marriage, and divorce records. These records are not available at the city level. Divorce records are managed simultaneously by the Clerk of Utah District Court and the Vital Records office of the Utah Department of Health. Marriage records are managed jointly by the Utah County Clerk, the Utah County Health Department, and the state’s department of health. Birth and Death records can be obtained from either the state or the county’s health department. Only persons designated by the record repository as eligible may be able to request Orem vital records.
Where and How to Obtain Orem Divorce Records?
Orem divorce records are one of the private court records maintained and issued by Utah district courts. To obtain certified copies of Orem divorce records otherwise known as a divorce decree, interested parties are to contact the courthouse that adjudicated the divorce case. Certified copies of Orem divorce records cost 50 cents per page with a $4 cap for the whole document. Residents may also request a special copy of their record known as exemplified copy.
