Crime Numbers
The Department of Public Safety of the Bureau of Crime Identification (BCI) publishes crime statistics for all the counties in Utah. In its latest reports, Davis County recorded 6,581 crimes in 2017. Out of these, property crimes accounted for 94.5% while violent crimes represent only 5.5%. These crimes include 5 murders, 111 rapes, 41 robberies, and 188 aggravated assaults. The county also recorded 756 burglaries, 4,720 larcenies, 383 motor vehicle thefts, and 23 arsons in 2017.
The five-year crime trend for Davis County indicates that murder (25%), rape (22%), and aggravated assault (21.3%) rates went up between 2013 and 2017. However, robbery rate declined by 8.9%. During the period, burglary and larceny rates also declined by 10.2% and 6.5% respectively. While motor vehicle theft rate decreased by 0.79%, arson rate increased by 53.3%.
Davis County Crime Records
Residents of Davis County can procure a criminal history report by obtaining and completing an Application for Criminal History Form. Each criminal history report costs $15, payable by check, money order, or credit card. This form should be used by individuals requesting their criminal history report in person. For a criminal history report that will be collected by a person other than the subject of such a request, the requester must also complete a Third Party Release Form.

Davis County Sex Offender Registry
The Utah Department of Corrections maintains a statewide sex offender registry. Citizens and residents can obtain information about the locations and identities of sex offenders in Davis County by searching the registry. To access the registry, visit the Sex Offender Search. Provide a city name, street address, or zip code to retrieve information about registered sex offenders living in the county. The registry can also be searched by the offender’s name.

Vital Records
Divorce records are available from the Second District Court in Davis County. To obtain copies of these vital records, contact the Clerk of the Second District Court at the address provided above.
The Davis County Health Department provides copies of marriage and divorce certificates. Available records include certificates for marriages and divorces that occurred between 1978 and 2010. Each certificate costs $18. Photo identification of applicants is required.

The Davis County Health Department also issues birth and death certificates. Birth Certificate from 1926 to the present can be requested from this agency. Death certificates are only available for events recorded prior to August 1, 2006.
Request a birth certificate by submitting a completed Birth Certificate Request Form. The first copy of the birth certificate costs $20 while additional copies requested at the same time cost $10 each. The request must include an Acceptable Identification Document.
The procedure for obtaining a death certificate is the same as for requesting a birth certificate. A death certificate can be ordered by submitting a Death Certificate Request Form. The certificate costs $30 for the first copy and $10 for each additional copy requested at the same time.
Applications for birth and death certificates can be submitted by mail or in person. To request copies of these certificates, submit all required documents and fees to the Davis County Health Department at the address provided above. The Department only processes requests from the subjects of these vital records or their relatives.
